Process for the heat treatment of fine-grained iron ore and for the conversion of the heat-treated iron ore to mettalic iron

Method of converting iron ore into metallic iron consists of converting fine particle of ore into particles of 0.1-5 mm by adding a binder followed by drying. The dried particles are then heat treated at 700-1100 deg C in a fluidised bed process to convert them into metallic iron.
