Automatic piloting system and evaluation process of an acceleration setpoint

The automatic control system has five stages. The first stage (1) evaluates the distance (Dcomm) travelled during triggering of the brakes and the second stage (2) produces a speed instruction (Vcons). The third stage works out an acceleration instruction (acons). A fifth stage devoted to precise train stopping evaluates by fuzzy logic a deceleration (afrein) to stop the train at a target point (11) using comparisons with trajectories (8,10) which correspond to known decelerations. The fourth stage (4) generates traction commands (T).
