Process for the treatment of melts of aluminium and its alloys

In the treatment of Al (alloy) melts, 1,3,5-trichloro-1,3,5-triazin-2,4,6-trione (I) is added to remove metallic impurities, H2 and oxidic plankton. Also claimed is (I) as agent for treating Al (alloy) melts, opt. mixed with inert additive and/or oxidant.
