METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF BANDS FROM WIDE CLOTH AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION

The method and the device are designed for making bands of wide cloth material of technical, medical and decorative purposes. By them, bands of even widths are produced regardless of the unevenness of the material, at maximum simplified design of the device which can be mounted to every textile machine for weaving and treatment of material. By the method, wide cloth material (1) of specified stretching to the zone of cutting is fed continuously where simultaneous cutting and dividing of every two adjacent bands (3) is made in different planes by a cutting component (2), the cutting edge of which is positioned in the plane of the material. The device includes, in succession: mechanism for feeding wide material (1), cutting mechanism (6), heat-setting unit (4) and mechanism for transporting away the bands (11). The cutting component (2) of the cutting mechanism is in the form of a band-type knife fitted along the width of the material (1) and in its plane.
