PURPOSE: To lighten load on a driving source for driving a carriage and to prevent image blurring from occurring by independently rotating and driving a cooling fan by elastic force accumulated at the time of moving back in the case of moving in an exposure scanning direction. CONSTITUTION: In the case of restoring action of the carriage 3 that the image blurring does not cause trouble, the rotation of a roller 6 rotated by the moving action of the carriage 3 is accumulated in a helical spring 10 through a one-way clutch 7. In the case of exposure scanning that the image blurring causes the trouble, the clutch 7 is interrupted and a one-way clutch 11 is coupled, so that the elastic force accumulated in the spring 10 is transmitted to the cooling fan 4, and an original platen 1 is cooled.
