<p>PURPOSE: To eliminate the electrification irregularity of an image carrier and prolong the life of a contact electrifying member. CONSTITUTION: The exposure light 5 is radiated to an image carrier 1 electrified by an electrifying roller 2 to form an electrostatic latent image, the latent image is converted into a visible image by the toner of a developing device 6, the visible image is transferred on the transfer paper 7, then the residual toner on the image carrier 1 is removed by a cleaning device 9 in this image forming device. The sum of the roughness R1 of the blade ridge line 10a of a cleaning blade 10 and the surface roughness R2 of the image carrier 1 is set to 5μm or below, R1 is set to 3μm or below, the contact angleθof an inlet seal 11 is set to 15 deg. or below, the tip deformation quantity (t) is set to 0.5-1.5mm, and the contact length L with the image carrier 1 is set to 0.1-1mm. The fine toner in a developer is prevented from passing through the cleaning blade 10, and a carrier is prevented from damaging the image carrier 1.</p> |
