PURPOSE: To prevent the gelling of a coating soln. and the crystallization of a resin binder and to improve the adhesion of a photosensitive layer to the substrate, the mechanical strength and printing resistance of the photosensitive layer by using polyarylate having specified structural units as the resin binder forming the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION: Polyarylate having structural units represented by formulae I, II is used as a resin binder forming a photosensitive layer on an electrically conductive substrate. At this time, the mol fraction between the structural units represented by the formulae I, II is regulated so as to satisfy 0.05<=I/(I+II)<=1.00 and an inherent viscosity (ηinh) of 0.25-1.00 is imparted. In the formulae I, II, each of R1 -R4 , R7 and R8 is H, halogen, etc., independently X is C of corresponding valence having Hs or alkyls, (m) is an integer of 4-7, each of R5 and R6 is H or 1-6C alkyl, Y is phenylene, biphenylene, etc., and Z is a single bond, O, S, etc.
