<p>PURPOSE: To provide a thin, light and portable liquid crystal display element with less power required and a coordinate input function and without deviation between a detection position and a display position and its driving method by providing a magnetic field generation means for generating magnetic field and a magnetic field detection means inducing an inductive voltage by the magnetic field from a detection pen and detecting the inductive voltage. CONSTITUTION: This element is constituted of a timing drive circuit 106 connected to one side terminal of a timing electrode 100 and driving the timing electrode 100, the magnetic field generation means 108 connected to the other side terminal of the timing electrode 100, a pixel drive circuit 114 connected to one side terminal of a pixel electrode 120 and driving the pixel electrode 120, the magnetic field detection means 112 connected to the other side terminal of the pixel electrode 120 and a liquid crystal layer 110 put into between a first transparent substrate 104 and a second transparent substrate 124 confronted with each other.</p> |
