PURPOSE: To always obtain the same transfer property without depending on a former color image pattern formed on transfer material by measuring current flowing in the transfer electrode of a transcription means at a transcription time, and correcting a transcription bias at a next color transfer time according to this current value. CONSTITUTION: An ammeter 116 is connected to a constant voltage power source 115 connected to a color transfer drum 102 so as to form a mechanism measuring current flowing therethrough, transfer current flowing through the transfer drum 102 is measured during image transfer, and a next color transfer bias is corrected by a control circuit 117. That is, the transfer current is measured during first color transfer, and the previously determined transfer bias according to the measured current is corrected using a correcting value α1 so as to determine second color bias as follows, V20 (the transfer bias to be applied to the second color) =V2 (the second color transfer bias applied in an early stage) +α1. Third color transfer bias is corrected by a formula, V30 =V3 (the third color transfer bias applied in an early stage) +α2. Fourth color is corrected likewise. |
