PURPOSE: To properly detect timing deviation between the transmission side and the reception side by detecting the reception timing of a known pattern from the maximum value of correlation values, which are provided by the correlation processing of received signals and the known pattern, and calculating the timing deviation of a receiver to a transmitter. CONSTITUTION: The sampling timing of A/D converters 1 and 2 is performed synchronously with operation timing A, and digital data converted by the A/D converters 1 and 2 are stored in a memory A3. When synchronous words are contained in transmitting signals just for M pieces of symbols, a complex correlator 4 extracts data for the synchronous words from the received signals stored in the memory A3 and performs correlation arithmetic with the known synchronous words in a memory B5. Among the correlated results outputted from the correlator 4, only the correlation values before and after optimum timing as a center just for certain time are stored in the memory by a timing difference detection circuit 10. Then, the most certain correlation value is detected out of the stored correlated results. |
