PURPOSE: To provide a reduction gear device for vehicle which is provided with a tilt preventing member which can surely prevent the turning-down of a reduction gear and possesses the excellent durability and maintenance performance, as for the reduction gear device for vehicle which is provided with a tilt preventing member and is suitably used for a large-sized vehicle such as bus, truck, and tractor. CONSTITUTION: As for a reduction gear device equipped with a reduction pinion which is pivotally supported on a differential carrier and a reduction gear 16 which is pivotally supported on the differential carrier and meshed with the reduction pinion, a tilt preventing member 42 which prevents the turning- down of the reduction gear 16 by the contact with the back surface 32 at the place meshed with the reduction pinion of the reduction gear 16 is installed on the differential carrier. At the contact part between the reduction gear 16 and the top end of the tilt preventing member 42, a ceramic contact member 44 or a roller is installed.
