METHOD FOR TAKING UP COATED OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of a hindrance in subsequent stages of letting off by well taking up a coated optical fiber on a take-up bobbin while removing the static electricity thereof. CONSTITUTION: The charge voltage impressed by a letting-off side charging device 22A is so controlled that the potential of the coated optical fiber 10 attains zero on the take-up bobbin 14 according to the potential of the coated optical fiber 10 measure by a letting-off side potential measuring sensor 30A installed be low a reel 12C arranged just before the take-up bobbin 14 and a take-up side potential measuring sensor 30B installed right above the take-up bobbin 14. The charge voltage impressed by a take-up side charging device 22B is so controlled that the potential of the coated optical fiber 10 on the take-up bobbin 14 attains zero according to the potential of the coated optical fiber 10 on the take-up bobbin 14 measured by the take-up side potential measuring sensor 30B installed right above the take-up bobbin 14.
