PURPOSE: To make compatibile the travel stability of a vehicle and the improvement of its riding comfortableness. CONSTITUTION: With a shock absorber piston speed Pv reflecting a relative speed on and beneath a spring taken at a value equal to or above an upper reference value aup determined by source voltage Ev at a step S165, the damping force of the shock absorber is kept at a current level and the change thereof is prohibited at a step S180 on the ground that the speed Pv is too high, even if the damping force is in a phase for a change from a hard mode to a soft mode at a step S175. The change in the force from the soft mode to the hard mode, however, is not prohibited, even when the speed Pv is high, and the force is changed to a target value in the hard mode at a step S190. In this case, the upper reference value aup is taken at a small value, when the voltage Ev drops. |
