PURPOSE: To improve the corrosion resistance of a refractory material consisting of chromia-magnesia by incorporating and kneading the refractory material with Cr2 O3 and Al2 O3 followed by molding and then firing in the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: A refractory material consisting of chromia-magnesia is incorporated with 1-10wt.% of Cr2 O3 <=40μm in particle diameter, 5-10wt.% of Al2 O3 <=4μm in particle diameter and a binder followed by kneading into a blend, which is then molded and fired in the atmosphere, thus the objective densification of the refractory material can be accomplished. |
