<p>PURPOSE: To enable efficient adsorption of HC exhausted at the starting time of an engine by eliminating disturbance of moisture contained in exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A physical moisture separation and removal means, for instance, a cyclon moisture remover 1 is arranged on an upstream side of an HC adsorption agent 2, for separating moisture contained in exhaust gas by centrifugal force, and discharging it while bypassing the HC adsorption agent 2. A moisture absorption agent is not used at a position which is exposed to high temperature, so that stability and durability are improved.</p> |
