<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of an image due to the deterioration of the electrostatic chargeability of a developer even by continuous printing (copying) and to form a clear image having high image quality by specifying the average particle diameter, etc., of a carrier. CONSTITUTION: This electrophotographic developer is a two-component developer contg. a toner and a carrier made of a granular polymer contg. dispersed fine powder of a magnetic substance. The carrier has 35-60μm average particle diameter and contains <=20wt.% particles of <=200 mesh and <=45wt.% particles of >=325 mesh based on the total weight of the carrier before a magnetic field is applied to the carrier. When an electrostatic latent image is developed by bringing a magnetic brush into contact with the surface of a photoreceptor while rotating a developing roll, the carrier is made hard to scatter by centrifugal force and the sticking of the carrier to the surface of the photoreceptor is suppressed.</p> |
