PURPOSE: To provide a piping material in which heat resistance, flame- retardancy, weather resistance and appearance are good by forming an outer layer of an alloy of maleimide modified styrene resin/polycarbonate/ABS containing a flame retardant and covering a steel pipe with the outer layer through an adhesive layer consisting of an adhesive polyolefin having water resistance. CONSTITUTION: An outer layer is formed of an alloy of maleimide modified styrene resin/polycarbonate/ABS containing a flame retardant. A steel pipe is covered with the outer layer through an adhesive layer consisting of an adhesive polyolefin having water resistance. Hereupon, melt viscosity of maleimide modified styrene resin/polycoarbonate/ABS is regulated within a range of 6×10<3> -5×10<5> poise in a range of 1×10<1> -1×10<2> sec<-1> shear rate. The flame retardant is a nonhalogen-based one and the amount to be added is regulated to 0.1-60wt.%. The steel pipe coated with the resin passes the fire retarding compartment penetration conditions required for a kitchen because the said steel pipe has high heat resistant temperature and flame-retardancy.
