PURPOSE: To provide an effective emergency power supply system which can supply emergency power to any appliance concerned in the event of power failure and can prevent thermal runaway of the appliance. CONSTITUTION: An emergency power supply system is structured so that a hydrogen storage alloy tank 1 is connected with a fuel cell 2 through a valve 11, and in the event of power failure, a control device opens the valve 11 and supplies hydrogen to the fuel cell 2. The generated power of the fuel cell 2 is supplied to an appliance concerned via an electrical system 24. The coldness of the tank 1 when the hydrogen is emitted, is transmitted to the appliance via a thermal conduction line 32 so that the appliance is prevented from runaway. |
