PURPOSE: To provide a mechanism for transmitting output of ultrasonic motor which can make the best use of the characteristics of an ultrasonic motor starting and stopping quickly and can position a driven member with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A member 11 to be transmitted is brought into frictional contact with the outer peripheral section of the moving body 2 of an ultrasonic motor having the moving body 2 which is brought into contact with the driving surface of a rod-like vibrator 1 with pressure and rotationally driven by means of driving waves excited by the vibrator 1. Since the rotating motion of the moving body 2 is directly converted into the linear motion of the member 11 by the frictional force between the moving body 2 and member 11, a member driven by the member 11 can be started and stopped quickly and the starting/stopping characteristics of the ultrasonic motor can be exerted to the utmost without being affected by the backlash, etc., of gear transmission mechanisms. Therefore, the member driven by the member 11 can be positioned with high accuracy. |
