PURPOSE: To provide a method for projecting a polygon to the surface of a cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION: Out of the surface of a cylindrical body consisting of a cylindrical face and circular planes, the cylindrical face is divided at an equal interval in the center axis direction and at an equal angular interval around the center axis and the circular planes are divided at an equal interval in directions mutually intersecting at right angles. After projecting the vertexes of the polygon to the surface of the cylindrical body (steps SP1, SP2), respective vertexes are interpolated by Bresenham algorithm or the like (step SP3) and only an interpolating point having a short distance from a prescribed reference point on the center axis of the cylinder is projected.
