PURPOSE: To dispense with the positioning work of a document to a region other than the original document mounting region which is required for continuous copying by providing a means starting the formation of an image from an optional position of a paper sheet. CONSTITUTION: The formation of an image is started by an optical scanning means from an optional position of a paper sheet 2 fed from a paper feeding means. The paper sheet 2 is normally fed to a registration roller 1 by manual insertion or a paper feeding device, the registration roller 1 synchronizes the image formed on a photosensitive drum 3 and the copying position on the paper sheet 2, and the registration roller 1 starts rotating to convey the paper sheet 2 so that the image on the photoreceptor drum 3 is copied at the optional prescribed position on the paper sheet 2. When an operator makes continuous copying or multiplex copying, the next document is mounted on a platen, and the image forming processes are repeated desired times via a series of actions that the paper sheet 2 copied with the image is again fed to the registration roller 1 and a copying start button is pushed. |
