PURPOSE: To provide a means capable of foreknowing the residual amt. of ink because there is a possibility meeting with a printing impossibility suddenly because the residual amt. of the ink in a printing cartridge during use can not be confirmed from appearance in a conventional printing cartridge replacing type ink jet recording apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A novel printing cartridge 4 as a wt. measuring standard is arranged to one end part of the seesaw plate 1 provided to the exterior part of an ink jet recording apparatus and a printing cartridge 3 used at the present time is arranged to the other end part thereof and the residual amt. of the ink in the cartridge 3 is judged on the basis of the position of the equilibrium fulcrum of the seesaw plate 1 or the angle of inclination thereof. |
