PURPOSE: To generate a pattern with less data quantity by inputting and holding a processed value in a plurality of data processing areas for generating a teacher pattern and an input pattern, obtaining a representative value for the plurality of data in the area, and outputting the processed value of the areas in a preset order. CONSTITUTION: The shape of an object to be recognized is defined, stored in a memory, its shape interior is divided into a plurality of data processing areas N, a name of an aggregate for constituting the area N is set, and stored in the memory. The shape and the area N are displayed on a display, confirmed and then stored in the memory. The positions X(i), Y(i), Z(i) of a starting point and the sizes x(i), y(i), z(i) of the area are set for all the data processing areas (i) (=l-N), and stored in the memory. Then, a representative value calculating method in the area (i) is set, S=1 is set when the representative value is the maximum value, S=2 is set when the value is the mean value, S=3 is set when the value is the minimum value, stored in the memory, the order of outputting the representative values is set for the area (i), and stored in the memory. |
