PURPOSE: To provide a lithium secondary battery having excellent cyclic stability for a long period even with a large current charging/discharging, with which a positive electrode having a good electroconductivity and good charging/ discharging efficiency are obtained and can preclude drop of the capacity of a carbonaceous negative electrode by incorporation of the positive electrode. CONSTITUTION: A mixture of V2 O5 , CoO2 , P2 O5 , MO (M is an element of alkali earth metal), and Li compound is melted, put under water, and crushed by any means for example pressing using a metal plate. Thus an amorphous solid solution is produced and it is subjected to a heat treatment at a temp. higher than the glass transfer point. Thereby crystals of homogenious and isotropic structure are obtained by simply heat-treating stable solid solution of amorphous type of V2 O5 -CoO2 -P2 O5 -MO-Li compound. The obtained substance is used as a material of the positive electrode for lithium secondary battery. |
