CATHODE FOR FLAT DISPLAY SCREEN THAT HAS CONSTANT ACCESS RESISTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniform electron emission to prolong a cathode life, by obtaining a cathode including a microchip for the radiation of an electron having the optimum uniformity. SOLUTION: A cathode includes resistant layers 11 supporting an insulated board 10 and thin conductor layers 19 are arranged between the layers 11 and the conductors 13 as required. The conductors 13 include many chips 2 respectively to be constituted in a row, and the chips 2 are arranged on the layers 11 in the center of circular apertures 17 provided on the conductors 13. The respective apertures 17 demarcate annular resistant regions passing through the layers 11 between the chips 2 of the conductors 13 are electrically insulated from the conductors 13 via the resistant regions having the same diameters when the diameters of the apertures 17 are the same. The diameters of the apertures 17 are larger than the diameter of the base of the chips 2, consequently, all the chips 2 can be electrically insulated from the conductors 13 via a resistor having the same value.
