Topical compsn. contains a calcium compound, esp. calcium chloride, as active material, together with a biocompatible excipient. The calcium compound pref. comprises at least 2% of the composition, esp. 10%. The compsn. may be formulated as aqueous gels or emulsions (oil-in-water and water-in-oil). The compsn. pref. also contains a magnesium salt, esp. magnesium chloride.
