The procedure consists of spraying the fabric (1) with mu -droplets (10) of arising or impregnating liquid at high pressure as it passes a spray bar (12) set across its direction of travel. The spray bar is equipped with a series of nozzles (11) fed by a high-pressure system to produce a curtain of liquid droplets which lies perpendicular to the fabric's direction of travel. The high-pressure system incorporates a pump which can deliver a pressure of 20-300 bars at a high rate of output - several cubic metres per hour. The pump is driven by an electric motor.
