An under-garment, especially but not exclusively for young children, consists of two separate sections (1, 9), joined together by adhesive or welding. The first section has an outer layer (2) of a supple impermeable material, an inner permeable layer (3), and an absorbent pad (4) between them with an elasticated strip (5) along each side. The second section (9) of the under-garment consists of an elasticated waistband to which the two ends (7, 8) of the first section are attached. The first end (7) of the first section is attached to the waistband by adhesive or welding, leaving two free ends (18, 19) on the waistband to be attached to the garment after fitting.
