High resolution pre-formatted rewritable optical disk

摘要

A preformatted rewritable optical disk has an active layer of material with optically reversible properties and a reflective layer. The novelty is that the preformat is inscribed in the reflective layer and/or the active layer. Also claimed is a process for mfg. the disk, in which the preformat is inscribed by conventional photolithography. Pref. the reversible properties are magneto-optical or are associated with phase transitions.
