The method of involves separating cut blocks of wood (T) in a bundle (N). The bundles travel in a longitudinal direction out of the saw and are transported then individually transversely across to one or more separating stations (A,B). The bundles (N2,N3) consisting of blocks laid on top of each other enter the separating station from below, between moving sets of carriers (22). The individual blocks of wood (L0-L4) removed from the bundle are then transported further at set spaced intervals.
