The carrier has one or more rails (1) to support the vehicle. Mountings (3) are attached to the rail, and these each have at least two lower supports (3.1,3.2), for the tread of the wheel (9). The wheel can be positioned in the mounting, such that a segment of the wheel is accepted between the supports. The side of the wheel is supported by a lateral support (3.3), which may be adjusted with respect to the rail. This adjustment may be effected by pretensioned elements, or by adjusters (3.7) perpendicular to the rail.
