Mfg. band-shaped part by joining flat parallelograms in an assembler

A band-shaped item (38) is mfd. by successive connection of parallelogram-shaped flat bodies (17). Each body has front and rear ends (17b, 17d), the side (17a) slanting at a set angle. The body (17) is advanced lengthwise, its side (17a) parallel to a connecting part (38a) of the band (38), which is shaped and held. The body (17) is stopped with the centre point (17c) of its side (17a) aligned with the band (38) centre line (38b). The band (38) is advanced lengthwise, stopping (38) with set overlap over the side (17a) of the body (17). The overlap is joined, extending the band and forming a new connecting section (38a). The band retracts from the path of the flat body (17). Also claimed is an appts. to make the band (38).
