DRUG-RELEASING STENT

A drug-releasing stent to be introduced into vessels such as blood vessels for use. It is prepared by knitting or weaving in tubular form a fiber made from a drug-containing low-melting biodegradable polymer which does not damage the pharmacological effect of the drug, or by coating a stent body with a drug-containing low-melting biodegradable polymer. When the stent is introduced into a vessel, the drug is released from the biodegradable polymer to be administered locally. The polymer has a melting point of 80 DEG C or below and comprises at least one member selected from among poly- epsilon -caprolactone, poly-D,L-decanolactone, polydioxanone and copolymers thereof
