发明名称 Perfectionnements apportés aux systèmes élastiques à flexibilité variable, notamment pour suspensions de véhicules
摘要 496,980. Vehicle spring-suspensions; resilient shackles. DUBONNET, A. Nov. 18, 1937, No. 31802. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1936. [Classes 108 (ii) and 108 (iii)] A resilient suspension system for an independently sprung vehicle wheel incorporating a spring assembly of varying flexibility comprises a pair of aligned helical springs 2, 3 associated with an oscillating arm 1 carrying the wheel, and an abutment member 4 disposed between the springs and adapted to coact with spaced stops 5, 6 mounted on the vehicle frame, the arrangement providing that, after the arm 1 has moved a predetermined distance from its normal position in either direction, the abutment 4 engages one or other of the stops 5, 6 so as to render the spring 2 inoperative and cause the spring 3 alone to continue functioning. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the arm I is pivoted to a second arm 8 adapted to swivel about a pivot 9, one of the stops 5, in the form of a rubber or like block, being mounted directly on a cylinder 10 rigid with the arm 8, while the other stop 6 is carried on a bolt 13. In a modification, Fig. 3, the stops 5, 6 are disposed on a cylinder 18 which forms part of a shockabsorber co-operating with the springs 2, 3. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also modifications in which the wheel-carrying arm co-operates with a torsion bar spring, one or more sections of the bar being rendered ineffective when a predetermined displacement of the arm occurs. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
