Palladium-copper catalyst manufactured under 5% CaCO3 content palladium catalyst in addition of CuSO4 sol., which has 10- 30 wt % Cu content on carrier weight base, is very active for racemization. In compound octahydroisoquinoline group of fomula(I), R1 is H or C1 -C8 group and R2 is H or lower alkyl group. Under condition of using 2-10 wt % of reatant palladium-Cu catalyst, 70-140 deg.C and high pressurized hydrogen(300-950 psig) presence, isomer of formula(I) is turned to high purity racemate.
