The invention relates to a pallet comprising a number of parallel base beams (3, 3') and a deck (2) which is joined to the base beams. The characteristic feature is that the deck consists of a web or sheet of foldable material which has been folded to form a deck surface (4) consisting of a number of parallel panels (5) which adjoin one another at least essentially, and on the underside thereof, below the joints between the panels, parallel projections (8), that the base beams have a height which substantially exceeds the vertical extent (h) of the projections, that the base beams extend up to a point at least essentially level with the underside of the deck surface, that the top portion (49) of the base beams has through-recesses (21) of the same cross-section as the projections on the underside of the deck surface, and that the projections on the underside of the deck surface are introduced into the recesses in the top portion of the base beams, as a result of which a pallet is formed with spaces (23) for lifting forks between the base beams under the projections, the underside of which projections forms a lifting surface (9) for the lifting forks. The invention also relates to a unit consisting of a plurality of interconnected pallets, a blank for the base beam, a method for the manufacturing of the pallet, and an apparatus for the manufacturing of base beams.
