Electrochemical capillary detection system

An amperometric detection system for capillary electrophoresis comprises a silver/silver chloride reference electrode, a platinum earth electrode and a microdisk electrode arranged relative to quartz capillary immersed in the detector cell such that the microelectrode surface is positioned 150/!100 mu m in front of the end of the capillary using a micro-positioning system and the reference electrode is coupled with the detector cell via a ceramic diaphragm.
