In a pre-processing stage a "pre-distorting" system (VVS) is used with a non-linear transmission element (UG) that has a characteristic line showing few sawtooth parts and linear branches for large values. At the end of the transmission the signals are scanned and processed again, before passing to a decider (E) to limit the maximum amplitude for individual symbols according to restrictions on quantity at the transmitter.
