A photographic film cassette comprises a rotatable spool (5) mounted in a casing, with a strip of film (6) which is wound round the spool and moved out of the casing by turning the spool. A pair of flanges (1a,1b) are also mounted on the spool so as to come into contact with the ends of the film. These flanges are moulded from a synthetic resin cpd. (I) obtd. by mixing a styrene-based resin (IA) with a resin of the polyphenylene ether (PPE) type (IB) in a wt. ratio of (Ia):(IB) = (60:40)-(10:90) and adding 6-19 pts.wt. elastomer (IC) to 100 pts.wt. of the mixt..
