The invention relates to a commutator for rotary electric machines, especially motors running in fluids which are electrically non-conductive or poorly conductive, especially fuels, with laminae in sliding contact with a brush arrangement, in which the laminae consist of a non-wearing material. The lamellae are to consist of an alloy with at least one component with an affinity for oxygen.
