METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF ORDER OF PACKET TRANSMISSION

FIELD: computer engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves check whether channel is busy at each work station of computer network. If channel is free information is transmitted. Before sending each packet is assigned initial priority and each station measures time of transmission without clashes. Current priority is calculated according to equation: R=P+kT, where Pis current packet priority, Pis initial packet priority, k is weight of time parameter, Tis time of transmission without clash from i-th work station participating in clash. Order of packet transmission is determined using this priority. If packet is sent for second time, current priority is used as initial priority. EFFECT: increased efficiency of operations of local area network because priorities of packets are taken into account in case of clash. 3 dwg
