The method of staking, for plants, involves a post (1), which is preferably made of wood, and with a point, to enable it to be driven into the ground. The post has a series of parallel grooves (3), cut into two opposite faces of the post. The grooves are cut in a direction, which is perpendicular to the length of the post. Each groove is provided with two holes (4). An assembly of rings (5, 6, 7, 8,..) are arranged so that each one presents two hooks (9,10), which are formed towards the inside of the ring. The hooks are designed to fit into the pair of holes, which are formed in the grooves. When in use the rings are held in a horizontal position by the grooves and are arranged asymmetrically to allow the plant to be retained against the post.
