The anti-theft steering device comprises an activating rotating part (50) having a cam for controlling retraction of a locking bolt (24) against a spring. A manually-operated rotor (108) rotates the activating part between two extreme angular positions. A retractable locking latch (68) immobilises translation of the locking bolt (24) when the rotating activating part is in its extreme locking position. The activating part is rotated in a stator (14), and the locking latch tips on the activating part around a pivot (70) whose axis is parallel to that of the rotating part. The latch tips between a locking position, towards which it is returned by a spring, in which a locking lip (88) mates with the bolt stop surface (94), and a rest position in which the lip is withdrawn from the stop surface. The locking latch has a control cam surface which mates with a control surface in the stator opposite. |
