Semi-dry treatment of combustion gas to remove acids

The water combustion gas is treated to remove acid components by co-current contact with an alkaline aq. liq. in a Venturi mixer from which the gas flows down a column, in which the acids and alkali react and the water evaporates to leave a dry solid residue. Some of the residue is deposited on the walls of column, and the rest is removed from the gas with a filter. Clogging is prevented by vibrators which shake the residue from the walls of column into a collector. The filter also has a cleaning system and solid collector.
