Polarisation varying device and polarisation measuring device

The device consists of two light guides (10, 20) which maintain their plane of polarisation. An alternator (30) is connected to the light guides in such a way that their optical axes (X, Y) lie at an angle of 45 degrees relative to the optical fibre axis. Two voltage switches (40, 40'), each with a piezo-cylinder, have a power source (43). These power the light guides. A part of each light guide is coiled around its piezocylinder. Vibration and voltage frequency can vary.
