TABLE LOOK-UP CIRCUIT AND METHOD OF GOLAY CODE

The decoding circuit stores in advance in a table the correctable error types of the Golay code used in packet headers of D2-MAC(D2-Multiple Analog Component) broadcasting method, a HDTV broadcasting method developed in Europe, and corrects the errors by use of the look-up table. It comprises a syndrom vector generator(10) making the syndrom vector with respect to error types occurred in receiving vector; an error position detector(20) receiving address of the syndrom vector, and generating the error position data stored in the look-up table based on the address of the syndrom vector; an error corrector(30) correcting the error based on the error position data.
