The method improves memory efficiency and processing speed in the page printer using band buffering for treating dot matrix image data. The method consists of : first process to compute the number of dots of page printer equivalent to one dot of the image data; second process to initialize the highest pin among bit numbers, which means the position in the row of a dot matrix printer head; third process to compose line segments to transform and to record data; and fourth process to discriminate whether the input bit number is the lowest. If it is not the lowest, the next pin number is designated, and if it is the lowest, all the process is finished.
