The screw-roller comprising a crushing part consisting of a pair of long helical gears having a large pitch and engaging with each other and a pressing part of screw presses in extension from the crushing part. The helical gears having enlarged portions at both ends, the diameter of the enlarged portions being larger than that of the normal part, to produce a gap between the two gears so as not to allow direct contact gear engagement except the enlarged portions because of the gap, to the effect of eliminating metal friction noise and chip powder production between the gears.
