<p>The invention concerns a method and display device for navigating a vehicle on a route to a predetermined target position by a navigation system in which the navigation system optically displays travel tips concerning the route for the vehicle driver during the journey. The navigation system knows the current geographical position of the vehicle on a road and the geographical position of the road intersection or junction at which the next change of direction is to occur. According to the invention, as from a predetermined first distance from the road intersection or junction, at least one travel tip concerning the forthcoming change of direction is given in the form of an initial message and, as from a predetermined, smaller, second distance from the road intersection or junction, the driver is optically informed schematically and in perspective of the junction situation of the roads converging at the road intersection or junction.</p> |
