摘要 An amorphous lithium oxide cpd. of formula (I) is new. LixMVO4 (I): M = Co, Ni, Cd or Zn; x = 1 to xm, where xm = 8.4 (when M=Ni), 7.4 (when M=Co), 8.1 (when M-Cd) or 7.5 (when M=Zn). Pref. the cpd. has the formula Li8.4NiVO4, Li7.4CoVO4, Li8.1CdVO4 or Li7.5ZnVO4. Also claimed is a process for prepn. of the above amorphous cpd. from the corresponding crystalline cpd.. Further claimed are an electrode, contg. the above cpd. (I) as active material, and a rechargeable lithium battery (rocking chair battery) in which this electrode is used as the negative electrode. Pref. the electrode consists of a composite material of the cpd. (I), a material providing ionic conductivity and a binder compacted on a metallic conductor, the binder pref. being a solvating or non-solvating polymer opt. mixed with one or more aprotic polar cpds..
